Publicity Stunts: When Good Ideas Go Bad.

Today’s world is full with news and publicity stunts every news channels are running behind the increasing TRP level. If you are not famous enough, your say, your cause and even your life has little news-value for the mainstream media this is the new trend which have developed in Media circle. The situation is like, when a celebrity sneezes, whole media weeps in sympathy whereas when ordinary people die, in protest, atrocities, calamities, or even in state sponsored it get hardly coverage from the news media.

The best example is of the coverage of the Delhi gang rape was on the top when celebrities started interfering in that particular issue by supporting. All the media shifted their angle from the victim to celebrity. The question arise Is this a proper angle of the hard core news?

The situations have occurred many times when the hard news get suppress due to the celebrity news, and this scenario was in the starting was just for the entertainment element for the media but as the time and the interest of the audience increased the media took such celebrity news as the hard core news as if, it plays one of the most important news for a media organization. The news channels from newspaper till electronic media have changed their way of presenting news as a hardcore real news to paid news as the element of the news have some were missed around the flash out of the Celebrity’s life style.

 In conclusion, TV, newspapers and magazines need these celebrities to attract people’s attention. Otherwise, they cannot survive. And the most of the people seem to enjoy these personal lives so called “Publicity Stunts” of famous people or celebrities. So it is quite east for media to pay so much attention to these big guys in the world.
